Lisa Gulinson, DVM, MBT
Dr. Lisa Gulinson set her sights on becoming a veterinarian when she was 4 years old, and grew up in a house surrounded by a menagerie of rescued animals. She grew up in California, and spent her younger years volunteering or working with rescues such as Pet Orphans, and worked with prestigious and famous veterinarians who shaped the veterinary field and wrote main textbooks in internal medicine and cardiology: Stephen Ettinger, Etienne Cote, and John Bonagura.
Dr. Gulinson received her Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles with honors and is a Phi Beta Kappa. She helped build and run the Osteosarcoma laboratory at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She feels her research background has made her a well-rounded clinician, and is always on the lookout for new modalities to treat old problems.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Her passions lie in internal medicine, dermatology and helping senior pets live a long healthy life.
Dr. Gulinson practiced in Los Angeles, and actively volunteered at k9 connections, where she enjoyed inspiring at-risk teens about veterinary medicine and achieving goals while teens bonded with and trained homeless shelter dogs to facilitate dogs being placed in a permanent home. Dr. Gulinson moved to Arizona in 2011 for a slower paced life and to raise a family.
When she is not helping animals, she spends time with her husband, daughter and son. She is married to a big-hearted Real Estate Broker named Todd Gulinson, who shares her love of animals and works to raise money for children in need at Children's Hospital. They share their home with eight furry family members of 3 dogs, and 5 cats: Echo, Popcorn, Rocky, Honeymoon, Paulie Juby, Sugar and Snowy. Their home is full of aquatic friends too, all living in 6 aquariums.
